The RD-70 Rigid Dock Shelter is designed to provide full, unobstructed access for efficient loading and unloading of trucks, making it an ideal solution for busy warehouses and distribution centers. Featuring translucent side panels and a top panel, this industrial dock shelter allows natural light to enter, helping keep loading dock areas bright, safe, and productive.
The OTCO RD-70 rigid dock shelter system is built around two key priorities for any facility: energy efficiency and maximum sealing performance.
Energy Conservation: As trailers back into position, the top and side curtains—reinforced with built-in fiberglass stays—press firmly against the truck, creating a tight, consistent seal. These heavy-duty curtains are constructed from 40 oz. vinyl and are designed to join seamlessly at the top and sides, reducing air gaps and improving dock door sealing performance. Foam bottom draft pads further minimize air infiltration from below, helping maintain interior temperatures and reduce energy costs.
The shelter frame is constructed with select treated lumber, including 2×4 side framing and a 2×6 header, all finished with durable aluminum trim molding for added strength and longevity. Curtains are made from high-tear, high-abrasion, UV-rated 40 oz. vinyl, ensuring long-lasting performance in demanding commercial loading dock environments.
Standard angled mounting brackets are included for easy installation of the dock shelter system to your building. Optional 6” wide steel supports are available and quoted separately as needed for additional structural reinforcement.
